Departing the hotel at 09:00, the day begins learning all about the coconut. The first stop is Samui’s Coconut Museum which is situated on an actual coconut plantation and run by passionate locals. This fascinating museum teaches all about how oil is manufactured and the innovative ways they’re reusing the leftover waste in an eco-friendly manner. Afterwards, there will be ample opportunity to make Kanom Kee Mon, a sweet Thai desert.
Following this, lunch will be enjoyed in a garden setting with a menu that is inspired by all thing’s coconut, from a savoury and sweet green curry to fried eggs on banana leaf.
A leisurely stroll follows lunch, exploring the gardens and then onto Hin Lad Waterfall. Next up, head to Samui’s Agricultural Technology Transfer Center, on display here will be the science behind the coconut, from different species to how growing techniques have evolved through the years. Also, the centre provides demonstrations on creating local crafts.
End the day with a visit to a small, family-owned factory which manufactures a variety of products, such as household knickknacks, souvenirs and decorations, all derived from coconut.
Return to the hotel around 16:00.
