The coastline of Krabi has drawn visitors for years, and it’s not difficult to see why. Pristine, palm-fringed beaches give way to towering limestone karsts, perfectly framing bays of crystal-clear waters. The picture-postcard scenery along the coast stretches for miles, each beach seemingly more beautiful than the last.
With all this stunning coastline to explore, a luxury longtail boat ride is not to be missed. Disembarking from one of the piers at Ao Nang beach, travellers climb aboard a longtail boat that doesn’t compromise on comfort. With a personal assistant to cater to their every need, travellers can recline on the sun deck, making use of the provided cushion set to get comfortable and settle in for their journey in style.
The trip will take travellers to see four different island spots – Koh Kai, Railay, Koh Poda and Thalae Waek. Koh Kai is famous as a chicken-shaped rock – we advise that this is the best place to sit and enjoy the included picnic on the boat, expertly laid out by the butler for the day. Railay is a gloriously picturesque, curved bay, home to high-end resorts yet retaining a beach-bar laid-back vibe, majestically cradled by limestone formations. The crystal-clear waters become even more translucent around the shores of Koh Poda, a tiny island paradise that is the perfect spot for a bit of snorkelling. Finally, Thalae Waek is another sight to behold where, as the tide recedes, a strip of beach appears to connect two tiny islands – a classic photo opportunity to capture the serious castaway vibes.
During the journey, travellers can enjoy their time on the boat with complimentary use of Marshall speakers to set the soundtrack for the day. Listen to the music and pick away at the fresh fruit and snacks provided – not forgetting the iconic iced coconuts!
This trip can be done in the morning or in the late afternoon. Either way, admire the beautiful sunrise or sunset from the iconic longtail boat – a quintessential southern Thai experience.
