On this enriching day trip, you’ll begin by getting a brief history of this local agricultural community cooperative, where you’ll learn about the local culture and their sustainable and organic living practices. You will be met by your guide, ready to depart at around 8am. Upon arriving, and after a 15 minute overview, you’ll embark on a scenic hike through the community forest. This forest, shared by the locals, is an essential resource for the village, providing water and food. As you trek through the 15 minute route, your local guide will introduce you to the various trees, fruits, and characteristics of the forest, and you might even get to sample some of the produce along the way. Once you arrive at the destination, you’ll enjoy a special lunch cooked using traditional bamboo techniques, including sticky rice and local dishes. The meal is served on large banana leaves, creating a communal and rustic forest picnic experience.
After lunch, relax for a while before continuing your journey with a short transfer to a nearby chicken farm. Here, you’ll have a chance to compare conventional eggs with organic ones and even try cooking both to understand the differences in taste and quality.
To soothe your muscles after the trek, you’ll then enjoy a rejuvenating herbal foot bath, where you’ll soak your feet in a blend of approximately 20 different herbs. While enjoying the foot bath, you can indulge in herbal snacks and drinks, creating a relaxing and refreshing experience.
Next, you’ll embark on a unique local adventure a motorbike ride through the community, taking you to an organic farm. Here, the owner of the farm will share her inspiring story of transitioning to organic farming and the positive impact it has had on her health and the farm’s production. After walking through the farm and learning about its sustainable practices, you’ll head back to Chiang Mai for about 5pm this afternoon, feeling both relaxed and enlightened by your day’s experiences.
