View the wonderful wildlife native to Khao Yai National Park from a unique perspective – by torchlight as the day turns to dusk.
The park is a hive of activity with gibbons, pig-tailed macaques, muntjacs, and sambar deer calling the jungle home. Khao Yai National Park is one of the few places in Thailand where visitors can still find wild elephants roaming freely.
Many of these animals forage at night, including the elephants, sambar deer, civets, owls, and nightjars, so visiting as day turns to night offers an opportune moment to catch these creatures in action.
The well-informed expert guides set up high-bed trucks designed to offer great views and arm visitors with torches to help them catch glimpses of the wildlife.
The journey along a specified route is around 10km and takes roughly one hour. Along the way, the expert guides will sprinkle in facts and relevant knowledge and the park and its inhabitants, informing guests all about the creatures they see. As with any national park, conservation is key and it’s imperative we continue to protect these animals.
